In 2020, she wrote a middle-school nonfiction anthology, Nuestra América: 30 Inspiring Latinas/Latinos Who Have Shaped the United States, published by Running Press Kids and the Smithsonian Latino Center. In addition to short speculative fiction, Vourvoulias is the author of Ink, a near-future, immigration-centered dystopia which was named to Latinidad’s Best Books of 2012. Murrow, José Martí, Keystone, and New York Press Association awards. Her journalism and news editing have garnered an Emmy, and Edward R. An American citizen from birth, she grew up in Guatemala during the armed internal conflict and moved to the United States when she was fifteen. Sabrina Vourvoulias is an award-winning Latina news editor, writer, and digital storyteller whose work has appeared in The Guardian US, PRI’s The World,, NBC Philadelphia, Philadelphia Magazine, and other English- and Spanish-language publications.
